We’re a leading name in lightning protection and specialist project solutions, and we\’re looking for a dynamic SHEQ Manager to lead our \’staying safe together\’ culture and ensure every project meets the highest industry standards. What Is The Role As the SHEQ Manager, you will be part of the senior leadership team and working closely with operations to deliver the Safety, Health, Environmental, and Quality Systems. This includes undertaking audits and inspections, developing operating procedures, preparing reports and statistics, delivering presentations, and providing advice and guidance to employees and subcontractors. Key Responsibilities Determine strategic direction, analyze trends, and set work priorities in conjunction with the Managing Director for continuous improvement of SHEQ management systems. Assist site management with operational safety guidance and method statement addendums. Review and monitor RAMS templates, subcontractor RAMS, and access competence reviews for temporary works. Create and monitor health & safety targets. Stay updated on all relevant HSE laws, codes of practice, and standards. Lead the business in maintaining accreditation including ISO 9001, 19443, 14001 & 45001. Maintain accurate SHEQ records and documentation within the company’s management system. Conduct site safety, health, environmental, and quality assurance audits. Investigate accidents, dangerous occurrences, and near misses, leading investigations and incident management. Provide monthly SHEQ reports to the Executive and Senior Leadership Team. Distribute regular health and safety updates. Implement and monitor training and development programs, including apprenticeships and Toolbox Talks. Manage the company’s safety training budget and approve operational safety training. Promote a culture of continuous improvement and safety awareness. Act as Sentinel Coordinator for rail projects and signatory for BA (Heathrow etc.). Engage with local authorities (fire inspectors, parking levy inspectors). Support completion of PQQs and accreditation submissions. Support ESG submissions. Investigate quality issues and non-conformities. Promote group values and embed ‘Staying Safe Together’. Ensure compliance with occupational health regulations. Represent the company on group forums such as the Health & Safety Working Group. What You Will Need Proven experience in SHEQ management within construction, electrical, or specialist contracting industries. Deep knowledge of UK HSE legislation, ISO standards (9001, 19443, 14001, 45001), and risk management frameworks. Recognized qualifications such as NEBOSH General or Construction certificates. IOSH membership (Chartered or in progress) and IEMA membership (desired). Experience working in project environments, collaborating with project managers, engineers, and field teams to ensure compliance without compromising delivery. Strong analytical, reporting, and proactive problem-solving skills. Excellent communication and leadership abilities to influence at all levels. IT literacy, especially with compliance management systems and Microsoft Office. Hands-on, practical mindset engaging actively with teams. What You’ll Get In Return Exposure to high-profile projects.
