Purpose of the role: We are recruiting for a Trainee Reconciliations Administrator to join the ii Reconciliations team. You will develop the technical knowledge plus the professional skills and behaviours to work within our exciting and fast-paced Operations team, gaining valuable work experience plus achieving a qualification through a structured apprenticeship programme to kick-start your career. You will work within a team of experienced Reconciliations Administrators to gain experience across a variety of tasks; discovering the basics of record keeping, data accuracy, and identifying the differences between Internal records and External statements. You’ll build your knowledge across Operations, collaborating with teams such as Finance, Client Cash and Corporate Actions to establish the root cause of exceptions, and building your understanding to become a fully-fledged Reconciliations Administrator.
Requirements Key Responsibilities:
- Support the Reconciliations Manager in the monitoring and allocation of process exceptions
- Identify and allocate exceptions across multiple teams using the Accurate Reconciliation System, a bespoke software tool designed to provide a clear audit of Reconciliation breaks
- Develop an understanding for the importance of accurate record keeping, and how this can be done using the firms book of records, Figaro
- Liaise with all Operations teams to understand processes and exceptions to aid with allocation
- Work with the Reconciliations Specialists to develop an understanding of how bookkeeping can be applied to each process
- Use the training and competence scheme to maintain the appropriate knowledge, skills and expertise to carry out the role competently
- Maintain the first line of compliance defense by ensuring team adherence to business processes and procedures that are designed to meet the regulatory standards set out in the relevant FCA rules and guidance, with reference to CASS regulation
Eligibility Criteria: To apply for this role, you will need:
- To be at least 18 years old as of 1st September 2025
- Be a UK/EEA citizen or have lived in the UK/EEA continuously for the last 3 years
- To be eligible to work in the UK and not in full-time education
- Maths and English GCSE (or equivalent) grades A* to C (new grades 9 to 4)
- You must not hold an existing qualification at the same or higher level in a similar subject

About the Apprenticeship: Through the level 2 Accounts Assistant apprenticeship, you will learn the skills to competently perform all day-to-day activities that are required within the Trainee Reconciliations Administrator role. Within your development program, you will learn and grow technical knowledge such as:
- The principles of costing
- Introduction to bookkeeping
- The principles of bookkeeping controls
- Understanding the business environment
By the end of the apprenticeship, you will achieve your Level 2 Accounts Assistant apprenticeship plus the AAT level 2 Foundation Certificate in Accounting. Typically, the apprenticeship will take around 12 months to complete.
