We are currently recruiting for a brand-new Knowledge Counsel vacancy, to work in the London office of our client, a leading and expanding US law firm.
The Corporate Knowledge Management Counsel will report to the Chief Knowledge Officer and support attorneys in the London Corporate group with the development of overall knowledge infrastructure.
The position will manage processes and data and facilitate training, to enable the corporate lawyers to operate efficiently. The successful applicant will coordinate the implementation of firm-wide knowledge efforts, collaborate closely with office leadership, create best practices, and promote a knowledge sharing/continuous improvement culture.
Responsibilities will include:
- Evaluating current KM infrastructure and working to improve the ability to capture and disseminate information and research
- Identifying and prioritising new projects to enhance the efficiency of the Corporate Attorneys
- Assisting London Corporate Attorneys in creating and maintaining an orderly and effective knowledge bank for practice areas
- Monitoring key corporate industry updates, legal decisions, and practice and legislative/regulatory developments
- Developing procedures for generating, submitting, maintaining, updating, accessing, and disseminating information
- Acting as a main point contact for Corporate Attorneys to develop use cases, and deploy new technology
- Effectively communicating the availability and location of knowledge management resources
- Working closely with IT to develop a user-friendly interface and training materials that make knowledge management materials easily accessible to the London Corporate Attorneys
- Developing and presenting training for the Attorneys on the firm’s KM technology platforms
Suitable applicants will have 5+ years of post-qualified experience as a corporate lawyer, with a strong understanding of corporate market practice; with a strong preference for prior experience as a London Knowledge Counsel or PSL/Knowledge Lawyer in a large City/international law firm environment.
Demonstrable experience in evaluating AI tools to enhance legal research, document review and case analysis is also highly desirable. Strong drafting and negotiation, legal research and transaction management skills are crucial.
