Join our team as a Temporary Mechanical & Electrical (M&E) Maintenance Technician supporting a major data centre in Reading. Key Responsibilities
- Maintain critical data centre systems (high-voltage/low-voltage power, HVAC/cooling, backup generators, Building Management System, etc.) to ensure 24/7 uptime.
- Carry out planned preventative maintenance (PPMs) and reactive repairs to keep infrastructure stable, compliant, and efficient.
- Collaborate with the on-site facilities management (FM) team at the Reading data centre to manage mission-critical operations.
- Troubleshoot mechanical and electrical faults and support quick repairs to minimize downtime in this high-availability environment.
Requirements / Qualifications
- Proven experience as an M&E technician or maintenance engineer, preferably in data centres, critical facilities, or commercial FM roles.
- Electrical or Mechanical engineering qualification (City & Guilds, NVQ or equivalent) and strong practical skills.
- Hands-on knowledge of backup power systems, BMS, HVAC/cooling equipment, and data centre infrastructure components.
- Ability to start immediately and reliable daily attendance at the Reading site (Monday–Friday availability, no multi-site travel).
