Purpose of the Position
The purpose of this role is to grind and weigh coins, as well as pack the completed coins into boxes. Coins are products that RRL sells to customers such as SA Mint. All products must be produced to the required standard and quality.
Key Responsibilities
- Resource planning and execution by informing the supervisor prior to depleting consumables (sandpaper, coin packing boxes, and tubes).
- Packing and balancing the coin batch upon completion, considering the loss weight.
- Weighing and separating coins by completing a batch of a specified number of coins per 8-hour shift.
- Grinding coins to the required weights and ensuring that the reject rate is below 2%, with a flat reject rate below 2%.
- Punching of coin blanks.
- Weighing and grinding coins using the robot, completing a batch in an 8-hour shift, and grinding all coins from a specified weight.
- Daily balancing of materials in operation (input and output).
- Physically weighing incoming materials accurately.
- Completing checklists at required workstations.
- Maintaining standard housekeeping of the work area.
- Complying with all health and safety rules, proactively addressing any safety concerns that may be harmful to oneself or others.
- Adhering to safety standards, working shifts, and lifting heavy materials as required.
