MailOnline is recruiting an Audience Editor to join our audience team, spanning across Social, SEO, Third-Party Referrers, and the Homepage. The role requires experience in finding great stories, analysing data, developing content themes and strategies, and coordinating with various editorial teams to ensure content is tailored to the target audiences and platforms. The Audience Editor will report to the Head of Audience Engagement and work closely with wider editorial teams to grow and engage MailOnline’s audience. This is a fast-paced and dynamic role that requires a strategic thinker with excellent communication and analytical skills. Main Responsibilities: Source stories that will generate page views for the MailOnline website and its off-platform audience. Analyse metrics and data related to audience engagement, traffic, and social media to identify trends and opportunities for growth. Develop and execute strategies to increase audience engagement, focusing on social media, Google Search & Google Discover. Collaborate with editorial teams to ensure content is tailored to the target audience and optimized for engagement. Coordinate planning for the daily schedule and future events to attract and retain quality audiences. Identify and track audience interests and preferences to inform content development and distribution strategies. Stay up to date with industry trends and best practices related to audience engagement and social media. Requirements: Bachelor\’s degree in journalism, communications, marketing, or a related field. Experience in audience development, social media, or a related field. Strong analytical skills, with experience using data to inform strategies and decisions. Excellent communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to work effectively with multiple teams and stakeholders. Ability to identify, vet, and create compelling original and viral stories, both local and global, for MailOnline\’s channels. Sharp writer capable of creating punchy headlines and captions, with a good eye for engaging imagery. Familiarity with social media platforms and best practices for engagement. Knowledge of SEO and content optimization best practices. Creative problem-solving skills and a willingness to experiment with new strategies.
