The Aviation Security Officer is responsible for ensuring the safety and security of passengers, staff, and airport property by monitoring and controlling access points, conducting screenings, and responding to security incidents in compliance with regulatory standards. It is our team of dedicated Aviation Security Officers who make the difference to the quality and safety of travel of the customers at the airport and are trained and supported to carry out the role effectively. No two days will be the same, from carrying out patrols to responding to emergency incidents. Full training is provided on all core duties and responsibilities – we’re looking for team members with a can do attitude, who are great team players and offer exemplary customer service.

Candidate Requirements:

  • Full colour vision.
  • Ability to work varying shift times with early starts and late finishes all days of the week.
  • Ability to provide a 5 year checkable history of work/education; obtain and hold a satisfactory criminal record check and counter terrorism clearance and to have resided in the UK for the last 3 years.
  • Physical ability to undertake mandatory duties of the role including body search, bag search and patrols – the role will require long periods of standing, bending, walking and manual handling.
  • Have excellent verbal communication skills.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Screen passengers, baggage, and cargo for prohibited items using X-ray machines, metal detectors, and manual checks.
  • Monitor surveillance equipment and patrol airport terminals and perimeter areas.
  • Enforce airport security regulations and report suspicious behaviour or unauthorized access.
  • Assist with crowd control and emergency evacuations when needed.
  • Respond to alarms and investigate disturbances or security breaches.
  • Check IDs, boarding passes, and access badges to ensure compliance with security protocols.
  • Work closely with law enforcement and emergency response teams when necessary.
  • Complete detailed incident and shift reports.
  • Stay updated on TSA (or local regulatory) guidelines and attend ongoing security training sessions.
