Our client is a Co Antrim based SME who manufacture, supply and install a range of innovative and bespoke products across the engineering and construction sectors. They are now recruiting for a Senior Draftsman to develop the design department as well as carry out the preparation of installation and assembly drawings. This is an exciting position which offers the opportunity to develop into a Design Manager role.
Responsibilities:
- Plan, schedule, coordinate, monitor and control all work and projects
- Provide a link between Design and Production
- Coaching and mentoring of the Design team members, review and identify training requirements.
- Prepare product and installation drawings using Solidworks
- Revise and update existing drawings reflecting design changes, in collaboration with colleagues
- Maintain notes, design calculations and other documentation including, drawings, bill of materials, design parameters and performance guarantees for future reference
Criteria:
- Previous experience of Solidworks
- Experience in steel fabrication or flooring sector
- Experience of leading teams and developing/mentoring staff
- Able to generate project specific drawings from site survey information and specifications.
- Strong analytical, decision making and organisational skills
- Excellent communication skills with the ability to communicate across all levels of the business
- Able to work with minimal supervision and manage time
- Ideally third level engineering qualification
