We are seeking an experienced HR Advisor / HR professional / Senior HR Advisor to work as part of a busy HR & Employer relations team in Chichester, West Sussex. This initial 6-month contract is to work as part of a project team with a focus on sickness absence and ER case management. You will be working closely with managers on all aspects of employer relations cases with a focus on sickness absence cases which could include all elements such as mental health, muscular skeletal, reasonable adjustments, sickness, disability etc.. Key Duties : Manage a caseload in an advisory capacity, ensuring they are handled appropriately and in a timely fashion; Prioritise work and follow-up tasks on a daily and ongoing basis, working with the Manager and other key stakeholders to identify and manage changing priorities; Timetable cases so that they progress within agreed timescales Ensure effective and regular communication with all parties Support and advise managers dealing with employees with complex sickness/absences, both long and short term, including providing managers with regular sickness absence reports relating to their individual areas, in order to achieve a year-on-year decrease in sickness rates. To review and analyse provided workforce data, providing a monthly report for designated areas, regarding key workforce KPIs for sickness. To give risk-based advice on redeployment, ill health, retirement or termination in line with employment legislation and the organisation\’s policies Working with the HR Business Partner, People Manager or Lead – Project Team utilise the improvement methodology to identify contributors to sickness absence and formulate plans to address them. Candidates Were seeking a Senior HR Advisor / HR Advisor with a solid HR & Employer Relations background within unionised/complex larger-scale environments. Postgraduate Diploma in Human Resource Management or equivalent experience Member of the Chartered Institute of Personnel and Development or working towards Experience of employee relations in a complex, multidisciplinary organisation Knowledge of current UK employment legislation and understanding the risks of non-compliance Experience of advising managers on complex cases including disciplinary, capability and grievance As sickness absence is a focus for the role, this would be a high priority for the role. Experience of working in a multi-unionised environment Awareness of best practice employee relations methodologies The Offer 6-month initial contract via Hays on a temporary contract basis. Full-time 37.5 hours will be based at Chichester circa 3 days per week on site to work closely with department managers.
