Clinical Negligence Senior Solicitor

Solicitor or Equivalent (Clinical Negligence Grade A/B – Southport) Role: Solicitor or Equivalent (Clinical Negligence Grade A/B) Location: Southport / Hybrid As a Senior Solicitor in our Clinical Negligence team, you will play a pivotal role in managing and progressing cases with a high level of autonomy and expertise. Your responsibilities will include handling allocated cases from inception to resolution, ensuring that each is conducted with a proactive and commercially focused approach. You will correspond regularly with clients, medical experts, and other stakeholders to provide clear, informed guidance and maintain strong, supportive relationships. Your experience and leadership will be instrumental in delivering successful outcomes, driving the team’s success, and upholding our commitment to excellence in clinical negligence law. You will be joining a quality, experienced, and growing team of Clinical Negligence lawyers, several of whom hold accreditations such as from APIL, AvMA, and the Law Society Clinical Negligence Panel. In return, Fletchers offers: 35-hour working week Bonus scheme (subject to targets being met) 35 days holiday a year including bank holidays and Christmas Closure; option to purchase up to 3 extra days’ holiday per year, with long service awards after 5, 7, and 9 years Pension scheme with tax-efficient salary sacrifice Life Assurance Policy Medicash policy covering dental, optical, and medical expenses Company sick pay Enhanced Maternity, Paternity, and IVF schemes Flexible, agile working environment supporting work-life balance Varied funded social events (see Fletchers Group on LinkedIn) Monthly voucher awards for winners Main Responsibilities: Accountable for: Supporting the team to deliver outstanding customer service Proactive and commercial case management and progression Supporting the Team Leader in achieving financial KPIs Effective and thorough time recording Responsible for: Discussing and planning case tactics with the Team Leader and team members Identifying cases ready for LOC, settlement, and service Ensuring relevant case information is collected and collated Managing caseloads proactively and commercially Coordinating case progression with internal and external parties Drafting legal documents including LOC and letters of instruction Negotiating settlements and issuing proceedings if required Overseeing team-produced documentation and correspondence Advising the team on technical issues Essential Skills and Experience: Recent experience managing a caseload 8+ years PQE or equivalent in Clinical Negligence Excellent organisational, communication, and drafting skills Proficiency in Microsoft Office, Proclaim, and Excel Strong attention to detail and commercial awareness Ability to mentor junior team members Flexible and results-driven attitude Excellent client care skills About Fletchers Solicitors: Fletchers is a growing law firm specialising in personal injury and clinical negligence, ranked highly in the Legal 500 and Chambers & Partners.
