Position Summary
This role involves planning and leading engineering designs in water/wastewater projects, managing multiple projects simultaneously, and coordinating with a team of engineers. The candidate will work on sewer studies, rehabilitation, new sewer design, water distribution, treatment, and pump station projects in the Mid-Atlantic region. The focus is on delivering high-quality projects on schedule and within budget, with limited supervision.
Compensation
Hourly rate: $45-55, based on experience, education, and certifications. The range is an estimate; actual salary may vary.
Essential Functions
- Analyze project requirements and data to develop reports.
- Review survey reports, maps, drawings, and topographical data for project planning.
- Assess and develop solutions for system deficiencies and future issues.
- Demonstrate familiarity with hydraulic design, sewer rehab, water/wastewater treatment, and related areas.
- Perform design computations and develop project designs using software tools.
- Develop or review construction cost estimates.
- Prepare contract plans, specifications, and estimates.
- Attend client meetings and document minutes.
- Coordinate with other disciplines and review project designs.
- Conduct quality reviews in line with the Project Management Plan.
- Provide technical oversight and support to junior engineers.
Required Experience
- 5-10 years of relevant experience.
- Bachelor's degree in Civil, Environmental, Mechanical, or Chemical Engineering from an ABET-accredited university.
- Proficiency in AutoCAD Civil 3D, Revit, ArcGIS, MS Project, and Microsoft Office.
- Strong communication skills.
Preferred Qualifications
- Professional Engineering License.
- Experience working with local government clients.
