The predicted salary is between 61000 - 82000 £ per year.
The Dyno Technician will interface with the Build Bay, Dyno Prep Area, Workshop, Instrumentation, Stores, Shipping, and Test Facilities to achieve set tasks and goals.
Skills Required:
- Work as part of a team to keep Dyno Engines updated with correct hardware, controls, and operation across several Test Rooms.
- Arrange installation of instrumentation with workshop groups on parts fitted to Dyno Engines.
- Liaise with Vehicle and Apps teams to validate Dyno/Rig kit BOMs, ensuring timely ordering and delivery, including sufficient spares.
- Arrange critical parts and equipment to support Dyno Homologation Testing, Power and Smoke testing, and Heavy Duty Dyno Emissions Certification.
- Perform administrative duties including documentation of Engines, instrumentation, Spare parts, Exhausts/Catalysts, shipping documentation, and requisitions for Dyno testing support.
- Plan ahead for Engines, rig kits, and instrumentation to meet mount dates.
- Work cross-functionally with D&R Engineers to understand and document critical dyno systems such as cooling circuits and wiring looms.
- Plan and oversee catalyst aging programs to ensure availability of correctly aged catalysts for VPSE programs.
- Store and document catalysts.
- Liaise with Program Emissions Engineers and Planners.
Skills Preferred:
- Ability to use Team Centre to extract installation and component information or willingness to learn.
Experience Required:
- Experience in Dyno Testing and Powertrain Calibration activities.
Experience Preferred:
- Ability to log data using calibration tools and update controls modules as needed.
Education Required:
- Engineering-related qualification.
