Plant Supervisor β Industrial Operations | London | Monday to Friday (08:00 β 17:00) A growing international organisation operating across energy, chemicals, recycling, and renewables is seeking a Plant Supervisor to support and enhance operations at its London-based industrial site. This is a full-time, permanent opportunity offering career progression, hands-on leadership responsibility, and exposure to multi-disciplinary site operations within a high-performing industrial environment. About the Role As Plant Supervisor, you will support the Plant Manager in the day-to-day running of the site and act as their deputy when required. You will coordinate production and maintenance activities, manage key site functions, and help ensure safe, compliant, and efficient operations across all areas. You will also play a significant role in team development, coaching operational and maintenance staff while collaborating with key internal and external stakeholders. Key Responsibilities Oversee daily site operations and deputise for the Plant Manager during absences. Coordinate site production and maintenance activities within agreed budgets and compliance standards. Act as site landlord for infrastructure and asset monitoring, ensuring engineering standards are maintained. Provide operational cover for Production Shift Managers when necessary. Manage site security, asset control, administration, visitor inductions, and emergency response. Coach and develop the operations team, including shift managers, supervisors, and maintenance personnel. Maintain high standards of health, safety, and environmental compliance. Engage effectively with internal departments and external stakeholders, including trade union representatives. What You Will Bring HNC or HND in Engineering or a relevant discipline (or willingness to complete if not already held). NEBOSH/IOSH or equivalent health and safety qualification (or commitment to complete if not already held). Proven experience in an industrial operations or supervisory role. Experience in people management, including coaching, development, and performance management. Strong communication skills with the ability to engage constructively with staff, leadership, and trade union representatives. Track record of responding to fluctuating business demands and maintaining efficiency and safety standards. Commitment to promoting a safe, inclusive, and high-integrity workplace culture.
