Background: Experience does not have to be within the High Voltage Power industry, as the delivery of construction design management is transferable. Our stakeholders, clients, and engineering teams value strong leadership and a commitment to project goals. This is an exciting opportunity for an energetic, passionate individual with a strong background in Geotechnical Engineering. Role purpose To be responsible for the design delivery and suitability across Power T&D construction projects, focusing on Overhead Line (OHL) foundations and geotechnical delivery. Work with project teams, designers, and subcontractors to deliver safe, compliant, and effective scope of works. Provide advice on constructability, sequencing, and geotechnical support across workstreams. Engage in bid development, tendering, and innovation projects with the Team Lead and Design Delivery Manager. Additional details Flexible working options, including part-time and job-sharing. Competitive benefits package including generous leave, pension, share plans, and more. Responsibilities Lead and manage a section of the Geotechnical and OHL foundation design team. Coordinate foundation and geotechnical designs from feasibility to detailed design and installation. Ensure timely and high-quality delivery of designs, reports, calculations, and drawings in compliance with standards. Understand and incorporate client requirements, contributing to pricing and design solutions. Assess and identify design and temporary works requirements, driving a Safety by Design approach. Lead civil project designs, including reinforced concrete, ground risk assessments, and slope stability. Maintain compliance with legal and regulatory requirements (e.g., CDM regulations). Review technical quality and provide design approval. Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams and support tender processes. Mentor team members, promote good engineering practices, and support software and process improvements. Candidate profile Skills and qualifications: Degree in civil or geotechnical engineering; Chartered status preferred (ICE or IStruct). Post-graduate experience in civil engineering, with proven design and management experience. Experience supervising sub-consultants/subcontractors. Proficient in geotechnical design, Tekla Tedds, and familiar with Eurocodes and British standards. IT skills: Word, Excel, CAD.
