An opportunity has arisen for an Accounts Payable Assistant role within the Accounts Payable and Financial Control team, part of the UK Shared Service Centre. The role will be based in Brentwood and is a permanent position, working with the wider UK and Group finance teams.
Required skills and experience:
- Ability to take on new tasks quickly and work independently.
- Ability to adapt to a changing environment and work processes.
- Previous experience in an Accounts Payable role is required.
- Experience of working in a shared service centre environment is an advantage.
- Good IT literacy skills, especially Excel.
Key activities include:
- Gathering utilities usage data from supplier portals for input into our sustainability system (Accuvio).
- Processing supplier invoices and supporting outsourced partners with queries in the SUN system.
- Providing operational support for Accounts Payable and handling supplier queries.
- Conducting bank reconciliations for multiple companies and currencies.
- Processing interface and bank journals.
- Reviewing payment run proposals.
- Providing month-end accrual data to the reporting team.
- Reconciling balance sheet accounts and raising intercompany invoices.
- Supporting intercompany reconciliation processes.
- Approving payments.
