Role Overview:
We're recruiting for IT/EPOS Installation Engineers for a Self-Checkout (SCO) rollout across a leading supermarket chain in Ipswich and surrounding areas. Engineers will be responsible for replacing legacy systems with new SCO equipment.
Key Details:
- Project: Installing new SCO units in Co-op stores
- Shift Pattern: Night shifts, 9:00pm - 5:00am (plus 2 hours for travel)
- Schedule: 2 sites per night
- Training: Shadow training provided in-store with experienced Engineer
- Rate: Based on 10-hour day, door-to-door Β£190 per night
- Overtime payable after 10 hours/day
- Mileage: Claimable after 100 miles/day at 25p per mile
- Expenses: Weekly submission with receipts (parking, tolls, etc.)
- Hotels: Booked in advance if required
- Meals: Allowances claimable back - value TBC
- Kit: Shipped directly to site
- Script & Documentation: Provided in advance
- Vehicle: No size preference; must be reliable with valid business insurance and MOT
- Basic hand tools- Philips screwdriver etc
- PPE: Safety shoes & high-vis required (no hard hat needed)
- H&S & CSCS: Pending confirmation - CSCS may be required
Requirements:
- Experience in IT hardware installations or similar (SCO, EPoS, cabling)
- Comfortable with night shift work and travel
- Own transport with business insurance and valid MOT
- Android smartphone preferred for job apps and site communication
- Strong work ethic and ability to follow scripts/process documentation
- Able to pass standard pre-employment vetting
