Our purpose is to advocate for deep and competitive, integrated capital markets in the EU, UK and globally, which support companies and investors, facilitating economic growth. The AFME Communications & Marketing team supports AFME’s advocacy and thought leadership efforts by amplifying our key messages and positions in the media, at conferences and events, and through publications and other channels. The team is also responsible for marketing a busy agenda of AFME conferences and events. We are looking for a Communications & Marketing Graduate to support the team across all areas of Communications and Marketing work, including public relations, media relations, events marketing, website management, and social media management. The team’s work is wide-ranging and interesting, touching on all areas of AFME advocacy, so it will give you a good understanding of how the financial services industry engages with policy makers and regulators, as well as an in-depth, integrated view of how the Communications and Marketing function operates. Key Responsibilities Social Media Prepare social media assets for events in Canva Draft copy for event social media posts Attend select events to help produce on-the-ground social media Contribute ideas to social media content creation (for example, through monitoring competitor activity) Assist with monthly social media data reporting Communications Media Monitoring Support the preparation of the daily internal media report – reading through press articles to help disseminate relevant news to AFME colleagues Press list management Assist in researching relevant journalists through reading financial media to help keep press lists up to date Marketing Marketing Campaign Support Assist in creating and scheduling email marketing campaigns (e.g. event invitations, newsletters) Help maintain and update campaign calendars Track campaign performance using reporting tools Help compile and format post-campaign performance metrics (open rates, CTR, registrations, etc.) Events Marketing Assist in creating promotional materials for upcoming events (e.g. flyers, banner copy) Assist in researching media partners and endorsement contacts for events, and support outreach tracking and follow-up Help with proofreading and quality checks Website Check for broken links, typos, or outdated content Help with SEO tagging and basic optimisation (metadata, keywords) Assist with image optimisation for the website in line with AFME’s brand Help with website analytics monitoring to compile performance reports Skills, Knowledge and Expertise Essential: Articulate, with excellent copy writing and communication skills Native-level fluency in oral and written English Organised, with strong attention to detail Ability to work as part of a team, as well as independently Strong interest in financial services content and ability to explain complex concepts in easily accessible language IT literate, especially with Microsoft Office Educated to degree level in a subject with evidence of strong writing skills Desirable: Some prior work experience is helpful, but not required Interest in European policymaking Fluency in another European language apart from English Seniority level Seniority level Not Applicable Employment type Employment type Contract Job function Job function Marketing, Public Relations, and Writing/Editing Industries Capital Markets Referrals increase your chances of interviewing at AFME (Association for Financial Markets in Europe) by 2x Get notified about new Communications Specialist jobs in London, England, United Kingdom .
