New Bath Hotel & Spa is a beautiful 54-bedroom hotel located in the heart of Matlock Bath, within the scenic Peak District National Park. The hotel features a historic outdoor swimming pool known as the New Bath Hotel Lido, established in 1934, supplied by mineral-rich spring water from the nearby mountainside.

Role Responsibilities

  • Assist in the Leisure Club's daily operation, ensuring the pool area and fitness spaces are safe, welcoming, and impeccably maintained.
  • Be a visible, approachable presence to all members and guests, providing a high level of service and ensuring all health and safety standards are met.
  • Supervise the pool area, ensuring guest safety at all times.
  • Carry out pool water testing and report any discrepancies promptly.
  • Ensure poolside and changing areas are clean, tidy, and meet hygiene standards.
  • Respond quickly and effectively to any first aid or emergency situation.
  • Provide excellent customer service to all members and guests.
  • Support the Leisure Club Manager in promoting membership sales and retention.
  • Carry out basic maintenance checks and report any issues to the appropriate department.
  • Monitor and manage equipment usage to ensure safety and longevity.
  • Uphold all leisure club policies and procedures.
  • Undertake any training and development required for the role.
  • Complete any other reasonable tasks requested by the Management Team to aid the smooth running of the department.

Key Requirements

Essential:

  • NPLQ (National Pool Lifeguard Qualification) or equivalent.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to stay calm in emergency situations.
  • Excellent attention to detail.
  • A proactive and responsible approach to health and safety.

Desirable:

  • First Aid at Work certification.
  • Previous experience in a leisure club or hotel environment.
  • Knowledge of pool plant operations.
