About The Company

JFD Global is the world leading underwater capability provider, serving the commercial and defence markets with innovative diving, submarine and hyperbaric rescue, technical solutions and services.

The Role

The Commercial function at JFD plays a pivotal role in supporting and managing customer contractual relationships both in the UK and internationally. From the initial bid stage—working closely with the Bids team—through to contract execution and ongoing relationship management across products and services, the team ensures seamless delivery through to the conclusion of all contractual obligations. This role is key to providing expert commercial and contractual guidance, promoting consistency and control, mitigating commercial risk, and upholding best practices and strong governance throughout.

Principle Accountabilities

  • Providing management of the contract and commercial support to the project teams supporting long term UK MOD contracts.
  • Providing commercial support to the Bids team.
  • After contract award, undertaking commercial and contractual execution.
  • Providing support in relation to commercial risks and understanding complex terms and conditions.
  • Supporting any commercial financial commitments and reporting.
  • Providing advice and support in relation to major 3rd party contracts.
  • Supporting specific commercial activities, i.e., warranty, bonds, offset, etc.
  • Supporting with claims and liquidated damages.

Qualifications And Experience

  • Commercial, contractual, legal, or similar experience with an ability to understand complex contracts and deliverables.
  • Awareness and/or experience of commercial risk identification, mitigation and close out.
  • Experience of working within business governance arrangements/ procedures/ processes.
  • Experience with relationship management, internally and externally.
  • Effective oral and written communication skills and an ability to deal with colleagues (at all levels), suppliers and customers.
  • Skills in negotiating and influencing.
  • Leadership skills.
  • Able to work on own initiative, away from office, and be self-motivated and able to deal with a fast-moving environment.
