A leading UK high street fashion supplier is seeking a Junior Designer for their Girls Outwear & Leisurewear department. This is a fantastic opportunity for a creative and driven individual to develop their design career within a supportive and fast-paced environment. The role offers structured training, international exposure, and real opportunity for progression.
Main Responsibilities will include:
- Support the design and development of commercial and trend-led girls' outerwear and leisurewear ranges.
- Create CADs and presentation boards for internal use and buyer meetings, clearly communicating product ideas.
- Produce detailed tech packs to ensure accurate sample development with overseas teams.
- Coordinate with internal teams and overseas offices, particularly Shanghai, to ensure smooth design and production processes.
- Maintain sample, fabric, and trim libraries, ensuring all information is kept current and organised.
- Conduct market and trend research, compiling seasonal trend packs and competitive shop reports.
- Assist with admin and studio tasks, including sample management, updating design files, and supporting the senior designer.
- Develop knowledge of new software, such as CLO 3D, to support innovation in 3D design and visualisation.
Person Specification:
- Previous experience in girlswear design, ideally within outerwear or leisurewear categories.
- Strong proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite, particularly Illustrator and Photoshop; familiarity with Excel and CLO 3D is a plus.
- Ability to interpret trends and translate them into commercially viable product ranges.
