Senior Care Assistant

£12.25 per hour – Permanent contract, 33 hours per week, night shifts
Key Responsibilities
- Day-to-day responsibility for running a unit
- Support clinical duties, including medication administration, care plan reviews, and accurate record‑keeping under the supervision of the nurse
- Lead and manage a team of Care Assistants, handling shift handovers and ensuring that all staff are supported and motivated
- Provide training and supervision to new staff members, welcoming them and ensuring they are fully integrated into the team
- Build positive relationships with residents, families, and external health professionals such as GPs and District Nurses
- Assist residents with personal care duties, promoting independence and dignity
Key Skills / Qualifications
- Completed or working towards an NVQ3 in care – we support successful completion if required
- Motivated, positive, and possessing strong interpersonal skills in a close‑knit team environment
- Previous experience in a similar role, with a passion for making a real difference in people’s lives
- Ability to collaborate with nursing staff on clinical duties and support residents’ holistic needs
