The Assistant Commercial Manager will support the Senior Commercial Manager as a member of the vibrant and highly capable Commercial team within the Maritime Services Products business. This role involves managing and delivering a portfolio of contracts and bids to domestic and international customers in a dynamic and fast-paced environment. The Maritime Services Products business is undergoing significant transformation, including growth in our customer base through various products and services.
What you'll be doing:
- Support the Commercial team on a wide range of contracts, projects, and campaigns.
- Participate in Bid Teams to prepare Bid and Contract materials, including commercial bid reviews, ensuring necessary approvals within governance frameworks.
- Work closely with project teams, business development, and customers to ensure smooth contract operations and develop new business opportunities.
- Provide commercial strategy on contract development, pricing, governance compliance, customer negotiations, risks, and margin growth.
- Review and obtain approval for contract terms, engaging with legal, IP, tax, and other central functions as needed.
- Lead negotiations of proposals with customers, ensuring agreements align with business objectives.
- Collaborate with Supply Chain to ensure contractual obligations are properly managed.
- Establish strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders.

- Established commercial background, ideally in UK and export defense sectors.
- Experience working within collaborative team environments.
- High customer focus with a commitment to deadlines and targets.
- Broad knowledge of commercial principles, techniques, and practices.

- Aware of functions within project/bid teams.
