Responsibilities

  • Patient meal service: Deliver food trucks to appropriate nursing units at designated meal times and pick them up according to department policies.
  • Safety programs: Understand HASAP and proper food handling procedures.
  • Goals and objectives: Participate in all staff meetings.
  • Systems and processes: Support policies and procedures of the department.
  • Work efficiency: Use time efficiently to complete work assignments. Consistently practice 'clean as you go' and keep work area clean and organized.
  • Dishwashing duties: Tend, load, and clean dish machine; wash pots and pans. Record operating temperatures on the temperature sheet each morning.
  • Patient tray setup: Assemble prepared food and beverages on trays for all diets in a timely manner.
  • Cafeteria work: Charge correct prices when cashing out customers, according to the price list.

Qualifications

  • Education: High School Diploma or GED preferred.
  • Experience: Four weeks of on-the-job training to become proficient.
  • Licensure: Food safety certification preferred.

Knowledge of food safety is a plus. Must understand, speak, and read English. Ability to work as part of a team, collaborate, and be open to constructive learning.
