Our client is looking to recruit an Electrical Design Engineer for a 12 Month Contract.

Location: Stockton, Westlakes or Warrington

Contract Duration: 12 Month Contract

Working Arrangement: Inside IR35, Hybrid Working, 40 hours per week, BPSS

Electrical Design Engineers are needed to develop design for Low Voltage Power systems, supervise and check the work of others, and be responsible for the timely delivery of all related design materials to the procurement and construction teams. The role involves working under the direction of the Lead EC&I Engineer.

Responsibilities include:

  • Ensuring the safety, functionality or compliance of low voltage electrical distribution systems.
  • Providing internal stakeholders with appropriate challenge and professional advice to ensure the development or delivery of high quality engineering solutions for the building services/ LVAC Electrical design and assurance.
  • Evaluating, selecting, and applying appropriate solutions to engineering problems that improve efficiency or effectiveness, while improving safety and reducing operating costs.

Knowledge required:

  • Preferably Chartered Engineer or Incorporated Engineer, recognised international equivalent or possesses equivalent knowledge and experience.
  • Good knowledge of low voltage electrical distribution systems.
  • Basic understanding of the interfaces between own discipline / functional specialism and the wider engineering team deployed on a complex multi-disciplined design, construction and commissioning effort.
  • Basic understanding of the principles of risk management and value engineering.
  • Working knowledge of applicable health & safety legislation, industry best practice, standards and guidance.

Skills & Experience:

  • Skilled in technical writing of Electrical Services Specifications, Value Engineering reports, Earthing and Bonding Plans, Designers Risk Assessments.
  • Proficiency in LV design software, and Lighting design software (Prodesign/ Amtech/ Havecomp/ Dialux / Relux).
  • Good knowledge of BS7671 IET Wiring Regulations latest version and associated guidance documents.
  • Basic knowledge in CAD.
