As a Commercial Finance Analyst at Lakeland, you will play a critical role in delivering accurate, timely, and insightful financial information to support business decision-making and drive commercial performance. Reporting to the Commercial Finance Manager and supporting the Head of Commercial Finance, you will act as a Finance Business Partner to key stakeholders across the business, fostering strong collaborative relationships to ensure alignment of financial and operational goals.
You will be a key contributor to the monthly management accounts process, combining the responsibilities of a Management Accountant and Finance Analyst. Your role will involve detailed analysis of financial performance, identification of trends, risks, and opportunities, and the communication of actionable insights that influence strategic and operational decisions. With a strong commercial focus, you will provide critical support across various business areas, enabling informed decisions through robust financial planning, forecasting, and variance analysis.
Your ability to translate complex financial data into meaningful narratives will be essential in supporting performance improvement and delivering value across the organisation. You’re comfortable with numbers and familiar with accounting principles, holding either an AAT qualification or being part-qualified in CIMA, ACCA, or ACA. You’ve worked with computerised finance systems before and are confident using Excel and other Microsoft Office tools to compile reports, identify trends, and interpret financial data.
You have a keen eye for detail and a strong sense of ownership over your work. You prefer to complete tasks properly and on time. You’re comfortable working independently to solve problems but also enjoy collaborating with a team where support and idea-sharing are encouraged. You’re naturally curious and always seeking ways to improve processes or help others understand their budgets better. You’re proactive, speak up when needed, and are willing to take the lead on initiatives.
You excel at building relationships across the business and are comfortable engaging with colleagues at all levels. Your communication style is clear and concise—you can explain financial information in a way that makes sense to non-finance colleagues. You bring energy, enthusiasm, and a positive attitude to your work, with the confidence to take responsibility and adaptability to manage change.
If you’re looking for a role where you can make a real impact and develop your career in commercial finance, this could be an excellent fit for you.
