This role is ideal for teachers who enjoy variety, adaptability and the challenge of engaging different student groups while delivering high-quality learning experiences.
About The Role:
As a Substitute Teacher, you will provide short-term and long-term cover for absent teachers, ensuring seamless lesson delivery across various subjects and year groups. You will play an essential role in maintaining consistency in education, fostering a positive learning environment and ensuring students continue to progress academically.
Responsibilities of Substitute Teacher:
- Deliver engaging and structured lessons in line with school curriculum guidelines.
- Quickly adapt to new classroom settings, building rapport with students and staff.
- Ensure a positive and well-managed classroom atmosphere that encourages student participation.
- Provide support to students, helping them stay on track with their learning.
- Follow school policies on safeguarding, assessment and behaviour management.
- Offer constructive feedback to students and liaise with school leadership when necessary.
The successful candidate will:
- Have Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent.
- Have prior experience working in UK classrooms across different subjects and key stages.
- Possess strong adaptability, resilience and organisational skills.
- Utilise effective behaviour management strategies to maintain a focused learning environment.
- Have an updated CV (covering the last ten years barring any unexplained gaps) and an enhanced DBS registered to the Update Service (or be willing to apply for one).
