A brand-new specialist provision primary school is opening in Wythenshawe this September, and they are looking for dedicated and compassionate SEN Teaching Assistants to join their team from the very beginning. This is a unique opportunity to be part of an exciting new setting focused on supporting children with speech and language difficulties and autism.

As an SEN Teaching Assistant, you will play a key role in the day-to-day support of our pupils, both within the classroom and through 1:1 sessions. You will work closely with class teachers and the wider support team to help create an inclusive, nurturing learning environment where every child can thrive.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Supporting students with autism and speech/language difficulties in lessons and activities
  • Providing targeted 1:1 support for pupils with additional needs
  • Assisting the class teacher with lesson delivery and resource preparation
  • Helping implement individual learning plans and recording progress
  • Promoting communication, independence, and emotional wellbeing
  • Creating a safe, calm, and engaging environment for all pupils
Ideal Candidate Will Have:
  • Previous experience working with children with SEN, particularly autism or speech and language difficulties in a school setting
  • Confidence supporting both in-class and on a 1:1 basis
  • A calm, patient, and adaptable approach to supporting children with additional needs
  • Strong communication and teamwork skills
  • A relevant qualification or training in SEN (desirable but not essential)
