The Brush Plating Technician will report to the Production Manager and perform electrochemical brush plating of customer-owned and sample parts for production, OEM, repair, or refurbishment. Work is carried out in-house or at customers' designated locations in a professional and timely manner.
Tasks:
- Perform plating work utilising appropriate equipment and solutions as defined by the company process.
- Perform plating activities as necessary to meet customer requirements either in-house or at customer premises with occasional overnight stays as required.
- Adhere to all plating instructions as detailed on the route card, customer drawings, customer specifications, and/or verbal instructions.
- Assist in preparing accurate costs for the quoting process.
- Assist Sales team to help resolve customer technical questions.
- Design and make tooling and fixtures to facilitate efficient and effective plating.
- Maintain work area to a high standard of cleanliness ensuring it conforms to Health & Safety requirements.
- Follow all company policies, department procedures, and job-specific work instructions.
- Establish and maintain positive and professional customer relations when interacting with customer representatives.
- Travel as required to meet customer delivery expectations.
Requirements:
Essential:
- Ability to read, analyse, and interpret a variety of instructions given verbally or written including diagrams, blueprints, technical drawings, scope of work documents, and quality specifications and standards.
- Ability to read and use quality control gauging, micrometers, callipers, ball gauges, and dial indicators.
Desirable:
- Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardisation exists.
- Ability to troubleshoot mechanical problems and repair.
- An awareness of Health and Safety regulations is required.
