Job purpose

As a Picker Packer, you will be responsible for accurately picking products from inventory, packing them efficiently, and preparing orders for shipment to customers. This role requires attention to detail, organizational skills, and a strong commitment to safety and quality.

Responsibilities

• Accurately pick products from warehouse shelves based on order specifications, ensuring the correct quantities and items are selected.
• Verify product descriptions, quantities, and any special instructions from order forms before picking.
• Pack picked items securely and neatly for shipping, ensuring that products are protected during transit.
• Ensure that all packing is completed in a manner that complies with company standards, including proper labelling, barcoding, and sealing.
• Organize packing materials and ensure that the right packing materials are used based on the size and fragility of items.
• Handle stock carefully to prevent damage and report any damaged or missing items to the supervisor.
• Assist in stock replenishment or product returns when necessary.
• Maintain a clean and organized workspace within the packing area to ensure efficiency.
• Double-check orders before packing to ensure accuracy and prevent errors.
• Ensure that the correct packing slip, shipping label, and other relevant documentation are included with each order.
• Follow all safety guidelines and protocols to ensure a safe working environment.
• Report any health and safety hazards or accidents immediately to the supervisor.
• Work closely with other warehouse staff, including stock controllers and warehouse supervisors, to ensure smooth and efficient operations.

Role requirements

• Previous experience in a warehouse or logistics environment is preferred but not required.
• Familiarity with basic warehouse operations, including order picking and packing procedures.
• Ability to lift and carry heavy loads and stand for extended periods of time.
• Good organizational and time-management skills, with the ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment.
• Strong attention to detail and a commitment to accuracy in order fulfilment.
• Ability to follow instructions and work with minimal supervision.
• Good communication skills and the ability to work effectively as part of a team.
• Dependable, with a strong work ethic and punctuality.
• Energetic and physically fit, able to perform manual labour and meet productivity targets.
• Positive attitude with a focus on teamwork and customer satisfaction.
• Flexible and adaptable to changing demands and priorities.
