On-site in our Brand New Walthamstow (London) Studio — Full-time
About Wise Monkey Entertainment
We’re an independent game studio in London creating charming, witty, story-driven games. Our debut title No Stone Unturned is a detective game about a world of animal sleuths, set in a giant pub built around the mystery of why the chicken crossed the road. The answer may be more absurd and dark than it first seems…
The Role
We’re looking to hire 2 Junior Unity Developers to join our in-studio team. You’ll work directly with the Game Director, Lead and Senior Devs to help bring the game world to life. As an indie dev, you’ll wear many hats — we value varied experience, and skills in animation, audio, or music are a big plus.
Responsibilities
- Implement and aid design for core gameplay systems in Unity (C#)
- Build and polish game UI and interaction flows
- Support the integration of narrative, sound and art content
- Collaborate with artists, animators and actors to bring characters and scenes to life
- Assist with integrating sound and music into gameplay
- Prototype new ideas and contribute creatively to game design
- Identify and troubleshoot bugs and performance issues across platforms
- Participate in playtests and iterate on player feedback
- Learn and upskill quickly in a fast-paced passionate indie team
We’re looking for someone who:
- Has experience making games in Unity (commercial or personal projects welcome)
- Understands good code practices and version control (we use Github)
- Is comfortable collaborating across disciplines in a small but highly skilled team
- Is keen to learn and work flexibly across different areas of development
- Preferred bonus skills in either animation, audio, music
- Has an interest in storytelling and detective fiction is a plus
- Ready to start soon (1-2 weeks / immediately)
What we offer:
- £25k–£35k salary depending on experience
- Opportunities to take ownership and develop your skills across the project
- Central London studio (hybrid options can be discussed)
- A role on a game that’s a bit different — and a bit absurd — in the best way
