You will join as a trainee as part of the Investment20/20 programme. While we can’t guarantee a permanent position at the end of the 12 month contract, it is our intention to make an offer to extend a further year, but this is up to how well you perform. 75% of Investment20/20 trainees are offered permanent positions.
Our traineeship will introduce you to investment management and you will gain industry knowledge, experience and develop relationships enabling you to progress your career and provide you with skills to secure a permanent role. We will support you in achieving a professional qualification if this is something you are interested in doing. As part of the Investment20/20 programme, you will have opportunities to meet and network with over 200 trainees across the industry and participate in socials and insight events.
Our trainee programme is a fixed term one-year contract. You will receive 24 days annual leave. All roles are based in London. This is a programme intended to give you a breadth of knowledge and experience within the business to enable you to make informed decisions about where you would like to develop your career.
Responsibilities include:
- To support the London Global Credit Team in its mission to develop, design and apply monitoring / quantitative tools and strategies for fund managers as part of the investment decision-making process.
- The main responsibilities include but are not limited to the following:
- Gain exposure to a disciplined Fixed Income investment process in a global universe through;
- Working in close proximity with Portfolio Managers in the fixed income team
- Develop and monitor quantitative/qualitative tools in order to help the decisions process of the portfolio managers
- Updating workshop and investment committee materials
- Support on adhoc projects such as: assessing relative value trades between Agencies financial ratings, ESG rating, Climate risk integration
The role holder will adhere to FCA rules, conduct rules and principles and the Firm’s policies and procedures. Where appropriate, the role holder will seek guidance from management or Compliance.
Requirements:
If you are a school/college leaver or graduate who has an interest in working within financial services and has the following attributes, we are interested in hearing from you:
- Highly numerate
- Strong interest in financial markets
- Programming background with knowledge of VBA, Python or R
- Well-developed communication skills with the ability to liaise effectively both internally with other teams and functions
- Analytical approach and close attention to detail
- Works well in a team
- Fluent written and spoken English is essential
