Job Goals

As a classroom teacher, you will plan and deliver effective lessons, collaborate with grade level and curriculum teams, and build strong relationships with students and families. You will support all learners by understanding key principles of elementary education, including cognitive, social, emotional development, and language acquisition from childhood through early adolescence.

Qualifications

• DESE MA Elementary 1-6 certification required.
• SEI endorsement preferred.
• Bachelor\’s Degree required; Master\’s Degree preferred.
• Experience teaching Math and Science at appropriate levels preferred.
• Other qualifications as deemed acceptable by the Superintendent of Schools.

Responsibilities

• Develop daily and long-term lesson plans using current best practices.
• Create and implement curriculum objectives aligned with learning standards.
• Use diverse teaching techniques to promote student achievement.
• Design activities considering individual differences, including students with disabilities and multilingual learners.
• Evaluate classroom activities regularly against educational goals.
• Manage classroom routines effectively to foster discipline and self-regulation.
• Maintain a positive, engaging, and healthy classroom environment.
• Build warm and productive relationships with students, staff, and families.
• Apply strategies for developing literacy and numeracy skills.
• Implement Sheltered English Instruction for multilingual learners.
• Support students with disabilities through inclusive practices.
• Perform supervisory duties as required.
• Participate in extracurricular activities with colleagues and families.
• Perform any additional duties assigned by the Principal.

Additional Information

Salary: In accordance with FEA Unit A contract.
