As JDR’s expansion into Cambois, Blyth continues to gain momentum, we have an opportunity for a Shift Leader to join the team based at our brand new, state-of-the-art manufacturing facility.
With previous experience, or an appetite to learn, of leading and managing a team to work in an efficient manner, where safety and quality are paramount, the main duties will include:
- To motivate and lead all manufacturing staff to work in an efficient manner, where safety and quality are paramount
- To allocate work throughout manufacturing on a daily basis to ensure that work is carried out in accordance with the schedule to meet the company’s quality and delivery performance requirements
- To issue all job sheets and work sheets to manufacturing staff and ensure that they are compiled/completed correctly prior to returning to production office
- To report all variances from the schedule
- To ensure JDR’s manufacturing and quality procedures are carried out and respond to the notification of any deviation from the procedure or non-conformance
- Responsible for assisting with disciplinary issues in conjunction with HR and the Operations Manager
- Assist with the training of others, e.g. new staff/inductions, along with the training officer
- Assist with machine operation where necessary
- Report all break downs to Maintenance in writing
- Assist in the implementation of company initiatives
Safety and quality are paramount, so as the successful candidate you will comply with the company’s Health and Safety Policy paying particular concern for personal safety and the safety of others. The ability to communicate effectively is a must as you will be responsible for attending to and reporting on any accident that occurs on the shift.
A ‘can do’ attitude with excellent time and attendance is required to ensure the effective running of the department; with a passion to deliver to a high standard and work in order to ensure the quality of product.
