We are looking to recruit an Insurance Technician in our Head Office Insurance Team, on a full-time basis.
Responsibilities of the role:
- Reporting to our Insurance Manager, the Insurance Technician's main tasks will include:
- Provide Technical administrative assistance within the Insurance Dept. and for Head of Risk, ensuring integrity of incident and financial data records.
- Preparing accurate statistical reports for the Head of Risk and/or Insurance Manager as required by insurers, brokers or others.
- Managing & maintaining sensitive and confidential information, ensuring it is handled securely and in compliance with Company policies and procedures.
- Ensuring resilience within the Department through development of an understanding of key elements of the Insurance Officer and Insurance administrator roles and deputising for each during times of absence.
- Providing support to Head of Risk and Insurance Manager by assisting with Operational Risk projects or preparing statistical reports, databases or analysis as required.
- Lead the development and maintenance of the ROSCO safe driver awards scheme, ensuring that records are updated regularly and accurately, ensuring all qualifying drivers receive the appropriate award level.
- Assist other Departments with incident related queries or liability considerations & ensuring any relevant information is entered & maintained on Company systems.
- Assisting with internal case reviews to ensure continual attention to optimising the Department's efficiency & financial performance.
- Proactive handling of a caseload of Third Party Damage & non-fault claims for the Company, within terms of insurance arrangements and departmental financial authority limits.
- Working largely autonomously, dealing with all aspects from intimation to conclusion, including handling of telephone, e-mail & other written correspondence from other parties & their representatives, insurers, other contacts & internal departments; assessing liability, including viewing CCTV; maintaining accurate reserves for ongoing claims; assisting with internal case reviews to ensure continual attention to optimising the Department's efficiency & financial performance.
- Gathering data from the Company's operating systems or from other departments, then preparing & issuing statistical & analytical reports, including KPI reports, to others within the Company, including Directors, Operational & Engineering Management, Finance & other Depts., periodically, annually or as required in required formats, including Word, Excel and Power BI.
Requirements for the role:
- A working knowledge of Insurance administration is essential, ideally developed within a motor / third party claims environment. Some claims handling experience would be advantageous.
- Strong IT skills, including sound working knowledge of Excel and Word & ability to maintain and utilise databases with an exacting level of accuracy. Training will be provided, as required, on Company specific practices, systems & software etc.
- Excellent communication skills, both verbal & written, as well as strong organisational skills, attention to detail & a high level of accuracy.
- ACII qualification (or legal equivalent), or progression towards same, would be advantageous.
