IT Systems Administrator (3rd Line VMWare)

In this role we are looking to recruit a Systems Administrator. The Systems Administrator is the technical lead in the Windows VMWare environments with elements of Linux.

Key Accountabilities

• Ensure the Mamas & Papas Infrastructure is proactively maintained and monitored.
• Technical lead for the Windows VMWare environments and acquire the required knowledge to provide support of the internal Progress developed applications (with lead on Linux).
• Design and implement new provisions into the Mamas & Papas estate.
• Carry out design reviews and enhance processes to provide performance benefits and more cost efficient designs.
• Follow approved procedures with regard to change control and documentation standards.
• Diagnose and resolve issues escalated by IT Support team on a range of hardware and software applications (at any sites supported by IT Operations).
• Train and mentor members of the IT Support team (skills transfer).

Key Requirements

• REDHAT LINUX or similar technology experience (UNIX / LINUX).
• HPe Infrastructure (Server, Blade and SAN).
• VMWare Infrastructure Administration.
• A good knowledge of general networking – TCP, DNS, WAN, LAN, SD1 etc.
• The ability to troubleshoot Infrastructure and application issues.

Location & Working

This role is based at our Huddersfield Head office, 3 days a week in the office and 2 days from home as part of our hybrid working model.
