Mechanical/Steam/HTHW Engineer
Location: HMP Swaleside, Brabazon Rd, Eastchurch, Isle of Sheppey ME12 4AX
Salary: Β£38,333.37 per annum
Contract: Full Time, Permanent
We are seeking a dedicated Engineer β Mech/Steam/HTHW to join our team at HMP Swaleside, a Cat B men\βs prison.

HMP Swaleside operates like a self-contained city, requiring hundreds of staff to keep it functioning. As part of the Facilities Maintenance Team, you will be committed to ensuring smooth and safe operations, impacting prisoners, staff, visitors, and the wider community.
In this role, you will work alongside experienced colleagues including Plumbers, Electricians, Carpenters, Painters, Cleaners, and Administrators, all dedicated to making a positive difference and providing a secure environment.

We are a Ministry of Justice business providing critical, time-bound services to HMPPS and are seeking an Engineer β Mech/Steam/HTHW with experience in:
- Two yearsβ experience as a steam boiler operator or equivalent
- Knowledge of Water Supply Regulation and Legionella L8 requirements
- Familiarity with BG01 β safe operation of boilers
- Experience with commercial or industrial steam, heating, and water systems
- Plumber qualification (C&G 6035, C&G 6189, NVQ Level 3 or equivalent)
- BOAS accredited boiler operator course or equivalent
- Good Health & Safety knowledge
- Excellent organizational, time management, and people skills
