As the Industrial Sales Business Manager, you will be a driven new business sales professional. This role would require a hunter mindset to be motivated with a collaborative and technically biased mindset. The Strategic Business Manager will support the client throughout the whole sales cycle from proof of concept through to certification of a wide variety of products.

Required skills and experience:

  • Five years' experience in a business-to-business sales environment, ideally selling similar products or solutions, and demonstrable successful previous on-target performance.
  • Strong analytical and communication skills.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work under pressure and to targets, understanding concepts of sales forecasting, pipeline management, conversion rates, and sales planning.
  • Self-motivated with a positive 'can-do' attitude.
  • Good IT skills, including experience of working with a CRM system.
  • Engineering sales background in complex machinery.

Key activities:

  • Face-to-face and Teams meetings with current and new business clients.
  • Lead management, opportunity generation, and pipeline maintenance.
  • Delivering high levels of customer service and building strong relationships with clients.
  • Closing deals and achieving sales targets.
  • Updating the Customer Relationship Management System.
  • Network collaboration across the wider Intertek organisation to create leads with Intertek stakeholders.
  • Identify new market trends and opportunities for expansion of the current client offering.
  • Be well organised and planned, understanding the 'numbers' behind sales activity and maintaining them.
  • Understand the wider marketplace, identifying customer needs.
  • Strong Business to Business Selling including high activity, physical and remote meetings.
