Role Overview

We are seeking a passionate and experienced English Tutor to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for delivering high-quality teaching, learning, and assessment at our Derby Training Centre.

Key Responsibilities

  • Delivering High-Quality Training: Plan, prepare, and deliver engaging and informative sessions to Recruitment apprentices, ensuring that learning outcomes are met, and learners are motivated and supported throughout their apprenticeship.
  • Assessment and Feedback: Assess learners’ work in line with awarding body requirements, providing constructive feedback and setting SMART targets to support progression.
  • Curriculum Development: Contribute to the development and review of the curriculum to ensure it is current, relevant, and aligned with industry standards.
  • Support and Mentoring: Provide ongoing support, guidance, and mentoring to learners, helping them to overcome any barriers to learning and achieve their qualifications.
  • Record Keeping: Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of learner progress, attendance, and assessments, in accordance with Juniper Training’s policies and procedures.
  • Collaboration: Work closely with colleagues, employers, and other stakeholders to ensure a seamless delivery of the apprenticeship program and promote best practices.
  • CPD: Engage in continuous professional development to stay up-to-date with industry changes, teaching methodologies, and assessment practices.

Essential Qualifications and Experience:

  • Experience of working as an English Tutor/Functional Skills Tutor/Coach.
  • Experience/Ability to deliver Functional Skills & GCSE English.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to engage and motivate learners.
  • Competent IT skills for delivering online learning and maintaining learner records.
  • Qualified to a minimum of PTLLS.
