Pay: £13.24 per hour
Role: This is a casual (bank) position.
Responsibilities
- Cook healthy, varied, and safe meals for large groups (12-20 people), demonstrating relevant food hygiene certification or willingness to obtain one within three months.
- Communicate effectively with residents and staff, working well within a team.
- Maintain a clean and organized kitchen, with effective stock rotation and control.
- Understand and cater to the nutritional needs of older adults, creating menus in consultation with residents and staff.
- Plan, prepare, and cook meals according to dietary requirements and preferences.
- Manage stock by timely ordering, recording, and auditing supplies.
- Ensure safe use of catering equipment, adhere to cleaning schedules, and comply with environmental health standards.
- Follow COSHH requirements, keep assessments up to date, and complete all food safety records accurately.
Qualifications and Skills
- Relevant Food Hygiene Certificate or willingness to obtain within three months.
- Experience in cooking for large groups and understanding of nutritional needs of older people.
- Good communication skills, team-oriented, organized, and methodical.
Additional Information
- Competitive pay benchmarked regularly, with paid leave accruing at a rate equivalent to 31 days per year, including bank/public holidays (pro-rata).
- Mandatory training provided, with ongoing training required to maintain certification.
