We are currently recruiting for a Financial Planning practice in Berkhamsted who are looking for a Technical Paraplanner. They are looking for someone who has exceptional technical abilities, and the experience to demonstrate that they have the skills to fulfil this important role. The individual should be level 4 diploma qualified, and it would be great if they were working towards chartered (or already have it).
This is a rare opportunity to participate in a finely tuned team approach to client service. It will involve working closely with the Managing Directors, Chartered Financial Advisers, Wealth Advisers, and Investment specialists to deliver exemplary client service.
Responsibilities will include:
- Preparation of advice letters and recommendations e.g. investments and pensions
- Preparation of content for annual review meetings
- Preparation of pension, income drawdown and investment reviews
- Preparation of detailed cash flow models
- Undertaking research to support recommendations
- Provision of technical support to complex client queries
- Liaison with clients
- Occasional attendance at client meetings [90% take place in-house]
Essential skills & experience:
- Understanding of the Financial Planning process
- Excellent client facing skills
- Articulate and able to produce detailed and accurate work
- Exemplary report and letter writing skills
- Excellent inter-personal skills, both written and verbal
- Ability to multi-task and prioritise effectively
- IT Skills - fully competent in desktop applications (advanced in Microsoft Word, Excel and Outlook)
- Experience in working with a back-office system (X-Plan, Intelligent Office)
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Able to take accurate client meeting notes
- Have experience of using cashflow forecasting software
Desirable skills:
- Have experience supporting a senior adviser/advice team
- High level of technical knowledge regarding Pensions and Investments
- Used to dealing with High-Net-Worth clients
- Experience in writing complex and detailed reports for cases
Qualifications:
- Essential: Diploma in Financial Planning
- Desirable: Certified Financial Planner
