Location: Tamworth, Atherstone and Nuneaton

Hours: 8:30am- 3:30pm (day to day, short & long term) Required from June and September 2025.

£89 - £95 per day depending on experience.

We are seeking compassionate and proactive Teaching Assistants to work in mainstream primary schools in Atherstone, supporting pupils with a range of Special Educational Needs (SEN) including Autism Spectrum Condition (ASC), ADHD, speech and language needs.

This role involves working both 1:1 and in small groups with children across Reception to Year 6, helping them access learning and develop socially and emotionally within the classroom environment.

About the role:

  • Supporting pupils with mild to moderate SEN within a mainstream classroom
  • Working closely with the class teacher and SENDCo to implement individual support plans
  • Providing tailored literacy and numeracy support through intervention groups
  • Encouraging positive behaviour and emotional regulation through consistent and nurturing approaches
  • Helping children develop confidence, independence, and social skills
  • Supporting pupils with sensory or communication needs (PECS, visual timetables, Makaton training can be provided)
  • Occasional support with personal care, where required
  • Monitoring progress and providing feedback to teaching staff and parents

Requirements:

  • Enhanced DBS Child workforce - Must be on the update service. (We can assist you with a DBS if you do not have one)
  • 2x References are a must in order to clear your file with GSL.
  • Teaching Assistant Level 2 Qualification or similar.
