Bath Brunswick Veterinary Associates (BBVA) is seeking an experienced and motivated Licensed Veterinary Technician to join our team as Lead Surgical LVT . This is a unique opportunity for a technician who thrives in the surgical suite and is ready to play a leadership role in our growing hospital. Why BBVA? Our clinic is open Monday through Friday, closed weekends , and we serve a variety of patients—dogs, cats, exotics, and occasionally even some poultry! We’re under new leadership and actively investing in staff development, technician utilization, and expanded services—including advanced dentistry, behavioral medicine, internal medicine, oncology , and more. Responsibilities Major Duties: Providing in-patient medical care: administering medications, treatments, diagnostics, monitoring, and patient management Handling anesthesia and surgery: prepping, induction, maintenance, monitoring, recovery, and sterilization of equipment Performing dental care: ultrasonic cleaning, polishing, assisting with dental surgeries Radiology: positioning patients and assisting with radiographs Laboratory duties: sample collection, preparation, testing, and result recording Client communication: updates, discharge instructions, and education Technician appointments: blood draws, bandage changes, post-op checks, suture removals Clinic support: assisting with outpatient procedures, room prep, patient check-in/out, and data entry Reception duties: answering phones, booking appointments, admitting/discharging patients Training and mentoring new team members Inventory control: restocking and notifying low stock Preparing prescriptions and medication refills Qualifications Physical Requirements: Ability to stand, walk, kneel, crouch, and lift up to 50 pounds Endurance to sit, stand, and walk on hard surfaces for extended periods Sufficient ambulatory skills to perform duties in a hospital environment Ability to work in noisy conditions with animals and equipment Good hand-eye coordination and visual acuity for operating equipment and computers Mission Veterinary Partners (MVP) is an equal opportunity employer.
