Qualifications:
- Must be a graduate from an accredited school of nursing
- MSN degree
- Minimum of 2 years general practice and 3+ years experience in an OR, PACU, or Perioperative area (adult population)
- Successful completion of all Orientation Programs
Preferred:
- Minimum of 2 years previous teaching experience in a service setting
Certifications and Licenses:
- Current RN License in New Jersey
- Basic Life Support (BLS) from the American Heart Association
- Course completion in IV Therapy
- ACLS and Critical Care certification a plus
- Proficiency with Microsoft Word, PowerPoint, and Excel
Scheduling:
- Part-time Day shift 20 hours weekly
Essential Functions:
The Clinical Nurse Educator designs, teaches, evaluates, and executes educational programs for staff at all levels across various clinical areas. Responsibilities include orientation, in-service education, and continuing education to maintain and improve competency and performance. The educator also supports compliance, quality improvement, and customer service initiatives, acting as a clinical resource, developing educational calendars, reviewing policies, and overseeing mentorship and residency programs. They assess learners' progress, develop individual and group learning plans, and serve as a resource and coach for staff and healthcare providers, collaborating with nursing leadership to resolve performance issues. Flexibility to work across shifts for education, mentoring, and development is essential.
