We have an exciting opportunity for a maintenance technician to join our well-established multi-functional maintenance team, supporting two prestigious properties in Bath: The Thermae Bath Spa, Britain’s only natural thermal spa open to the public, and The Gainsborough Bath Spa, a luxury 5-star hotel with natural thermal pools and a spa village.
These properties are technically advanced, with mechanical, electrical, and ICA assets requiring routine maintenance to ensure reliable operation and compliance. We seek a motivated individual who takes pride in their work, is proactive, enjoys challenges, and can provide technical solutions as part of a team.
The successful candidate will perform routine maintenance, operate plant rooms daily, and handle general repairs. Responsibilities include reactive work on plant breakdowns, planned asset improvements, and participating in a standby rota covering both properties out of hours from Monday to Sunday.
You will oversee contractors on-site, ensuring safety and compliance, and report any issues to the health and safety manager.
The ideal candidate should:
- Have electrical skills and experience with PLCs, control wiring, instrumentation, motors, AC drives, transformers, CHP systems, batteries, and protection devices.
- Be a time-served electrician with relevant qualifications at Level 3 or above.
- Possess 18th edition electrical regulation certification and possibly C&G 2391/2392.
- Have experience working on domestic, commercial, and industrial systems.
- Be motivated to learn new practical and soft skills.
- Have mechanical maintenance experience, including pipework, ducting, valve replacement, mechanical seal replacement, and pump servicing.
- Experience with pool water treatment systems and chemical dosing.
- Understanding of water treatment processes.
- Knowledge of RAMS procedures and legislation such as HASAWA and EAWR.
