Our Geomatics team is looking to take on a graduate geomatics surveyor to support the continued growth of our service. You will be joining our specialist geomatics team and working as part of our wider multidisciplinary service to provide a full service to a variety of clients across our Midlands region.

As a Junior Geomatics Surveyor, you will assist and learn from your Geomatics colleagues, working as part of a team on geomatics commissions including topographical surveys, measured building surveys, 3D Laser Scanning, 3D Revit and AutoCAD services. You will work alongside a senior colleague and be provided with hands-on exposure to geomatics practices to support your learning and develop your professional skills.

As a Graduate Geomatics Surveyor you will:

  • Regularly travel to client sites to provide measurement & mapping services
  • Assist surveyors with preparation of site work
  • Provide assistance with 3D Laser Scanning, Measured Building Surveys, Topographical Surveys & Scanning Processing
  • Support the Geomatics team on AutoCAD drafting, Administration, QA (Quality Assurance) & Data management
  • Successfully complete the Gleeds internal APC preparation programme; and self-development training in readiness for attaining Chartered status (RICS)
  • Ensure that all quantitative and financial information has been independently checked before issue, including maintaining evidence of independent checks

Additional responsibilities include:

  • Attaining Chartered status Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors (RICS).

About You

Experience, Knowledge and Key Skills:

As a Junior Geomatics Surveyor you will need the following:

  • A full UK driving licence with regular access to a car.
  • Good knowledge of geomatics surveying practices
  • Good knowledge of Land Surveying principles
  • Clear and effective communication skills - both oral and written.
  • Good organisational skills and the ability to quickly adapt to changes.
  • Sound problem solving, negotiating, financial management and numeracy skills.
  • Sound ICT skills, with a high level of proficiency in MS Outlook, Word, Excel and PowerPoint;
  • Ability to work as part of a team.
  • Post graduate geomatics experience is preferable, though not essential

Qualifications

  • GCSEs (or equivalent) in English & Maths, grade 4-10 / A*-C minimum
  • RICS accredited Bachelors / Masters Degree, or Post Graduate Diploma is desirable but not essential
