The Role

Purpose of the Post: Raise standards of student attainment and achievement within the curriculum and support student progress. Be accountable for student development in your classes. Develop and enhance teaching skills in line with teacher standards. Support and challenge student groups in their learning. Help build independent, lifelong learners.

Main Duties:

  • Undertake teaching in accordance with teacher standards, including KS4 Business and KS5 Business & Economics.
  • Plan lessons to meet learning objectives.
  • Use data effectively to plan learning.
  • Understand subject progression.
  • Provide appropriate feedback to promote further learning.
  • Frame questions to assess understanding and promote learning.
  • Use peer and self-assessment to enhance learning.
  • Set curricular targets for students/groups.
  • Support personalized learning to ensure high achievement.
  • Ensure high standards of presentation, effort, and learning.
  • Contribute to curriculum development and participate in professional development.

Pastoral Provision:

  • Monitor attendance, progress, and performance against targets.
  • Implement behaviour management systems.
  • Act as a Form Tutor, fulfilling associated duties.

Communications:

  • Familiarize with the academy’s aims and objectives.
  • Communicate effectively with parents.
  • Liaise with external bodies to enhance student learning.

Additional Duties:

  • Participate fully in the academy community, supporting its ethos and encouraging others to do the same.

Personal and Professional Conduct: Maintain high standards of conduct, respecting students' dignity, safeguarding their well-being, respecting others' rights, promoting British values, and adhering to school policies and legal responsibilities.
