We are seeking a Finance Assistant to cover maternity within the department, based at our Thurso, Fort William or Stornoway campus.
Responsibilities: The post holders will support the Finance team in providing accounting support for the college. You will provide an effective and responsive customer service to students, customers, suppliers and staff with a focus on suppliers and accounts payable. This will include inputting supplier invoices onto the financial system, processing direct debits ensuring creditor accounts are reconciled and invoices are up to date, review and processing of staff expense claims.
Qualifications, Experience and Skills: The suitable candidates will be educated to a Scottish Higher Level or above. You will have good IT skills and a meticulous approach to work and attention to detail. You will have strong customer service and communication skills and the ability to present data appropriately. Experience in processing accounting transactions with an understanding of Debits and Credits would be advantageous. A level of Gaelic ability would be advantageous to your application.
This post is 35 hours per week on a temporary basis until August 2026.
