Job Description
We are seeking a motivated, detail-oriented Analyst/Associate to join the Equity Capital Markets Syndicate team within Jefferies Investment Bank in London. This role is ideal for a finance professional with a solid foundation in capital markets who wants to be part of a dynamic team executing some of the most complex and high-profile equity transactions across EMEA.
As a member of the ECM Syndicate, you will play a critical role in the origination, structuring, and execution of equity transactions, working closely with senior ECM professionals, bankers, sales, and trading teams. Your responsibilities will include financial analysis, managing investor relationships, supporting deal logistics, and providing real-time market insights.
Key Responsibilities
- Deal Execution: Support the execution of ECM transactions, including IPOs, follow-on offerings, block trades, and rights issues. Assist in managing the syndicate process from start to finish, including coordinating with internal teams, clients, and investors.
- Market Analysis: Monitor equity markets and provide real-time market analysis to senior team members and clients. Use data to assess investor sentiment and guide pricing and positioning of offerings.
- Investor Outreach: Work with sales and trading teams to gauge investor demand and build relationships with key institutional investors. Assist in managing investor allocations and preparing feedback reports.
- Financial Modeling and Analysis: Perform in-depth financial analysis and valuation to support the pricing and structuring of transactions. Analyze and interpret data to make informed recommendations to clients and internal stakeholders.
- Documentation & Compliance: Prepare documentation for deals, including prospectuses, pitch materials, and regulatory filings. Ensure all regulatory requirements and compliance standards are met throughout the syndication process.
- Coordination and Communication: Collaborate with internal stakeholders across ECM, corporate finance, legal, compliance, sales, and trading teams to ensure smooth transaction execution.
- Client Interaction: Provide clients with regular updates on transaction progress, market conditions, and investor feedback. Support senior team members in client meetings and presentations.
Key Qualifications
- Experience: 1-3 years of relevant experience in ECM, syndicate, investment banking, or equity sales. Prior ECM experience is highly desirable.
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in finance, economics, or a related field. Additional certifications (e.g., CFA, ACA) are a plus.
- Technical Skills: Strong analytical and quantitative skills with proficiency in financial modeling, valuation techniques, and Microsoft Office (Excel, PowerPoint, Word). Knowledge of market data platforms (e.g., Bloomberg, FactSet) is beneficial.
- Market Knowledge: Deep understanding of equity capital markets, especially in the EMEA region, and familiarity with key equity products and structures.
- Communication Skills: Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to distill complex financial information into clear and concise insights.
