To support our ambitious growth plans, we have a great opportunity to join our Environment and Safety Division. SOCOTEC provides a comprehensive range of water hygiene and consultancy services to help companies fulfil their legal obligations. This is an exciting opportunity for a Water Hygiene Technician to join an enthusiastic team based in East Kilbride delivering Water Hygiene / Legionella Control Services. Our network of regional offices provides national coverage, while our in-house accredited laboratories ensure the utmost integrity and quality of results.

Your challenge will include carrying out water monitoring and sampling activities on the Rail Infrastructure to include:

  • Microbiological water sampling
  • Legionella temperature monitoring
  • Legionella compliance inspections
  • Documenting site observations
  • Liaising with contractors and clients on site

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • Preferably to have experience in Water Hygiene tasks (but not essential, we are happy to train)
  • Knowledge of water monitoring activities and associated legislation
  • Experience of field-based sampling and monitoring
  • Excellent organisation and time management skills to be able to work to set deadlines
  • Be self-motivated and able to work alone and as part of a team in a busy environment
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Pass a Sentinel Medical and Network Rail Personal Track Safety (PTS) Certificate

Due to the nature of the works being conducted on our client sites, a medical assessment and intensive course will need to be completed which will be organised by SOCOTEC. This is due to the medical fitness requirements set by our client to conduct the role. This role entails a significant amount of daily travel encompassing sites across Scotland.
