Job Overview At Britvic, we are seeking a dynamic and innovative Packaging Development Technologist to join our team. In this role, you will be responsible for developing and implementing cutting-edge packaging solutions that align with our global packaging strategy and Annual Operating Plan pipeline. You will work across our diverse portfolio of brands, including Pepsi, Robinsons, and J2O, bringing packaging concepts to life. Key Responsibilities Design and develop efficient, sustainable, and fit-for-use packaging solutions that help bring our brands\’ packaging vision to life. Validate designs from concept and brief through to full-scale manufacturing at a manufacturing site or contract packer. Create effective partnerships with Marketing, Quality, Supply Chain, Procurement functions, and suppliers to enable flawless delivery of NPD, cost-saving, compliance, sustainability, and business continuity projects. Act as the first point of contact for all technical packaging queries for assigned projects and initiatives. Write and maintain accurate and up-to-date project documentation, including design and supplier briefs, trial documents, and specifications. Develop and execute package testing plans and production trials in close collaboration with manufacturing sites. Ensure all assigned project work is delivered on time, on budget, and meets the stage gates and success criteria (including FMEA, DQVV, GMP, and HSE compliance). Support Quality/compliance activities on assigned complaint investigations, RCA, and change management. With guidance from more senior members of the packaging team, understand the risk profile of the packaging solution and actively manage the associated packaging risks and mitigation actions. Continuously look for ways to improve packaging utilization and packing line efficiency. Stay up-to-date with industry trends and advancements in packaging technology, and apply this knowledge to develop cutting-edge packaging solutions. Lead and support sustainability initiatives by developing packaging that reduces environmental impact and aligns with the company\’s sustainability goals. Requirements Proven track record of successful development and implementation of packaging initiatives, preferably in the FMCG sector. Technical knowledge in a range of packaging materials (glass, plastic, paper, and metal). Experience with rPET implementation is a plus. Base knowledge of the relationship between product, process, packaging equipment, and packaging material. Project leadership experience with a track record of delivering results is desirable. Experience working with manufacturing departments within cross-functional project teams is desirable. Accomplished IT skills using Microsoft suite of programs, packaging specification, and quality systems are essential. Experience with SAP is a bonus. Well-developed interpersonal skills, specifically relationship building, facilitation, written/verbal communication are essential. Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
